About the Manders Family
After a 2 1/2 year journey with lots of obstacles along the way, the Manders family finally arrived in Michigan at the end of January, 2022, after Pastor Cobus accepted the call to Belltower Reformed Church. They arrived from South Africa, where they were born and raised. Cobus and Mari both studied Theology at the University of Pretoria acquiring their BTh and MDiv degrees. Together, they pastored 5 different congregations in South Africa before moving to the United States. They are very thankful for this opportunity that God has blessed them with. Even their 3 dogs, Chelsea, Annie and Bella joined them all the way from South Africa.
They love nature and especially the beautiful landscapes of Northern Michigan. They sometimes miss all of the wild animals of South Africa, but find pleasure in watching the birds and wildlife of Northern Michigan. Some of their interests include Ballroom and Latin American dancing, with a couple of dance competitions that they did as a couple in South Africa. They are also a musical family and love playing music together. Cobus plays the piano and organ, Mari plays the Djembe (African) drum, and their 2 daughters play the violin and cello. They also like exploring different places and going on adventures as a family. Cobus also loves photography and playing golf.
Through everything that we do, with all the talents that God blessed us with, we lift His name up high.
Psalm 150: Let everything that has breath praise the Lord.
